Episode #023: Beekeeping for a Small Home Farm

More affordable, more natural beekeeping? It’s doable with a Kenyan Top Bar Beehive.  A Google search will turn up easy-to-make top bar beehive plans and there are lots of info sites out there as well.  Find out why Erin chose a Top Bar Hive over the traditional Langstroth hive, and why it may make sense for you, too!  Erin also welcomes Chelsea Daniels, “The Canny Preserver,” to the show to talk about getting started preserving your own food at home!  You can also keep up with what’s been happening at Aspendale Farm now that spring has sprung on this week’s episode!

I just found your podcast on I Tunes. I must say I really love it. I currently live in a subdivision that doesn’t allow many rural lifestyle activities, but I do what I can where I’m at. I gather so much information from your podcast and plan on practicing many of the things that you have talked about. I love the format of your show and feel like you are a close friend sharing information. I will recommend your show to friends. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.
